Evaluation Phase

I enjoyed the various phases of feedback we had throughout the project. I’d never before received feedback on a project during the editing phase and I found these instances helpful in improving my pitch and in illuminating how people receive our idea. Having to explain our pitch earlier on in the process helped me become comfortable with the information while also providing some valuable criticism. Some things mentioned were things we could directly address, while others (mainly accountability) were things I’m glad they brought up but couldn’t exactly solve. The Thursday pitch feedback wasn’t as illuminating. Partly because not a lot of people wrote a lot but also those who did brought up issues already exposed in class Tuesday. It was good -in a way- to see these problems were a common factor people noticed. I did like the practice pitch overall because it exposed me to the ideas and tactics of other groups. There wasn’t a lot of time from Thursday to Friday to make changes so the days previous feedback felt a little useless. I was pleasantly surprised by our actual Pitch day. I had never done a presentation in the same format so I was apprehensive on how it would go but I enjoyed it. It was cool to notice how my pitch got more refined as time went on. It was nice to see what people enjoyed and helpful to see what confused them. Through this process we saw more practical issues with our app and some people had good ideas on how to address things. Overall I really enjoyed the evaluation process and thought it added a lot to our pitch development process.
